The Palestine Exploration Fund hosts lectures that reflect the diverse interests of our membership. Lectures take place in the Stevenson Lecture Theatre, in the Clore Centre at the British Museum (unless otherwise stated). These well-attended events provide opportunities for both established and rising scholars to present their fieldwork and research. To see the range of topics covered by the PEF lectures, as well as lecture abstracts, please visit our forthcoming and past lectures pages. Lectures are followed by wine and soft drinks.
The PEF also co-ordinates joint lectures with the Council for British Research in the Levant, the Anglo-Israel Archaeological Society, and the Society for Arabian Studies. PEF Members are sent lecture cards which include the details of forthcoming lectures.
All lectures are free to attend for both members and non-members.
Once a year we host our Annual General Meeting prior to the PEF Lecture. Lectures can also provide opportunities for book launches for our PEF Annuals series or books related to the work of the Fund.
Related lectures and events are publicised in the London Diary for the Ancient Near East, available through subscription to the British Association of Near Eastern Archaeology (BANEA) and the London Centre for the Ancient Near East.
