Archaeological Tours to the Levant

In March 2010, the Funds’s Executive Director, Felicity Cobbing will be leading an 11-day tour to Jordan.  The tour covers all of the principal sites, as well as some that are “off the beaten track” such as Bab edh-Dhra and Jawa. This tour will be repeated in September.

In April, the Fund’s President, Jonathan Tubb, will be leading a 16-day tour to Syria.  The tour focuses on the early periods, and takes in all regions of the country, including the Habur and the Jezireh.  Jonathan has arranged exclusive visits to a number of  “working excavations” where site directors will show their latest results.

In September, Felicity Cobbing will take a special 8-day tour to Syria and Lebanon, looking at the Phoenicians in their homeland.  In addition to the well-known Phoenician centres such as Byblos, Sidon and Arwad, many lesser-known sites are included – Tell Kazel, Arqa and Tell Tweini to name but three.
