Mapping Jordan through two millennia:  PEF Annual Number X

This original and valuable book shows, with full illustrations, how maps of the Transjordan region developed through the centuries, and with its detailed tables and bibliography will aid future scholars in further research.


The Hellenistic Paintings of Marisa:
PEF Annual Number VII

A century ago several Hellenistic painted tombs painted tombs were discovered..  Hand-coloured copies of the paintings on photographic prints, retouched to restore the damage to the originals, were published in 1905.  The original unretouched prints are here published for the first time, with a fresh study of the paintings. 


Stone Vessels in the Levant:
PEF Annual Number VIII

From the Neolithic onward people of various Levantine cultures made vessels, some functional, some ornamental, from various types of stone.  This monograph examines the corpus from what is arguably the high point of this tradition, the second millennium B.C.


The Re-publication of The Wilderness of Zin:
PEF Annual Number III

In 1914 the PEF carried out an archaeological survey of the Negeb.  The archaeological part of the work, by C.L. Woolley and T.E. Lawrence, published in 1915 as PEF Annual III,  is now republished with additional material on the origins of the expedition and the views of the authors on what they found.
